HUD Environmental Assessment
MILCO conducts HUD Environmental Assessments (EA) for clients who are insured by HUD against loss on their mortgage loans. A HUD-insured lender must have an EA to comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and related Federal laws. The purpose of an EA is to identify environmental impacts of a restoration or new construction housing project on human health and on adjacent properties and to protect HUD against financial risk or liability if such insured housing property is found to have environmental issues that endanger human health and safety.
